Hello, Lovely People

Hello, we are happy to finally be able to introduce ourselves to you! You are probably wondering who are the secret geniuses behind this creative and profound blog about 20th century American history. You know, also realize how awfully humble we are.

Well, you can find that out by reading this section. We believe every story deserves a good opening, and you can read ours here. We hope that by the end of this post, you have a pretty good idea about who we are as people and what we intend to achieve by creating this blog.

Thank you for your time and enjoy reading!

History Buffs, History Nerds and Everything In-between

Let us start from the very beginning. So, we all met in elementary school and we admit that we did eat Play-Doh on one or two occasions. Who didn’t? Apart from that, a great friendship was starting to blossom, which continues to this day and culminates in our mutual ventures, one of which is this blog.

We ended up going to the same middle school and later high school, so we’ve been together for longer than we can even remember. We have always enjoyed our history classes, but we really got into history because of our high school teacher, let’s call him Mr. M.

Mr. M loved telling jokes, which is why he was so popular with all students. Still, he was also a brilliant educator who expected us to try our very best in his classes, and who helped us realize our potential.

He had a particular liking for debates. He’d often debate us in order to make us really think about a certain historical event. History, as evidenced by him, was not about memorizing dates, battles, and what not – it’s about seeking the truth about the past, which means you have to really work for it.

So… A History Blog

Mr. M’s classes were very competitive, which taught us many valuable skills that we could apply to our future careers. We didn’t use them just for that, though. Instead, we could never shut up about history and we became very passionate when we were discussing certain events.

We have had many heated arguments about things such as ‘which nation invented yogurt’. Yes, we know! We could never agree to disagree as we had to always turn everything on its head to get the most plausible answer that satisfied all of us.

We have had many wonderful debates, but we often regretted the fact that we never recorded them. This is one of the reasons why we undertook the duty to create this blog. You can look at each article as the combined effort of all of us and the conclusion we came to. Now we can keep track of mutual interests much easier.

The reason why we chose to base our blog on important events from the 20th century is one, because there are many such events, duh, and two, there are many more sources that we can use to validate our claims. Try looking for the poet who wrote an Anglo-Saxon elegy in the 5th century, it’s not fun!

So yes, this is basically our backstory and our motivations behind creating this blog. We don’t intend to expand it to include events from other centuries, but we will often look at how a 20th century event impacts our present day.

We would like to thank you for taking the time to read this post and to visit our blog. We cannot do this without you, our lovely readers. We hope you like what you see on here and don’t hesitate to contact us if you think there’s something that could be done better.
